Job Summary

Mackenzie Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the CVH 4 Neonatal ICU. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a world-class health experience for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic, quality, and safe care to patients within the scope of practice identified by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Work independently and collaboratively as part of the interprofessional care team to create a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Contribute to safe, quality care by effectively managing workload, addressing and resolving issues, and exercising sound professional judgment.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, provide patient education, and document patient information accurately.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current Certificate of Registration in the General Class with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Recent experience in NICU nursing.
  • Proven clinical experience with patient-focused care, including strong patient assessment, care planning, patient education, and documentation skills.
  • Experience working with electronic medical records.
  • Familiarity with the Regulated Health Professions Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, and the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrated strong decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and adjust to new or unexpected events.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Mackenzie Health's Commitment to Caring and values – Excellence, Leadership, and Empathy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from an approved nursing program.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Recent completion of a physical assessment course.
  • Membership in the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario (RNAO)/Canadian Nurses Association (CNA).
  • Perinatal Nursing Courses/Certificate.
  • Ability to speak a second language.
