Canadian Blood Services is seeking a skilled Plasma Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic Plasma Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the collection of plasma in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct registration and confidential screening to determine donor eligibility and provide a positive donor experience.
- Provide coaching and consultation to donor centre staff, acting as team lead for collection events as needed.
- Assist in the collection of plasma, which saves lives daily, and work in a diverse team environment.
- Set up booths, tables, and other equipment to ensure donor clinics are properly set up for use at mobile events within our communities.
- Completion of an accredited nursing program and current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the province is required.
- 2 years of experience working as a nurse is considered an asset, as is certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Previous experience as a preceptor or with coaching others is an asset.
- Technical skills including Microsoft Word and Outlook, and the ability to learn new systems and programs.
- A second language is considered an asset to support a positive donor experience.
