Nurse - Gerontology Specialist

Villa Colombo Senior Centre (Vaughan Inc) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in a long-term care setting. As a Nurse - Gerontology Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and Plan Care: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Provide Direct Care: Deliver hands-on nursing care, including administering medications, wound care, and vital sign monitoring, to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
- Lead and Mentor: Supervise and mentor Licensed Practical Nurses and other nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Communicate Effectively: Maintain open and transparent communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination and address any concerns or issues.
- Stay Up-to-Date: Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices, new technologies, and emerging trends in gerontology and long-term care.
- Education and Certification: Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the province/territory of work, CPR certification, and First Aid certification.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in a long-term care setting, with a focus on gerontology and patient-centered care.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong assessment and planning skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
