About the Role

Villa Colombo Senior Centre (Vaughan Inc) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in a long-term care setting. As a Nurse - Gerontology Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Plan Care: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Provide Direct Care: Deliver hands-on nursing care, including administering medications, wound care, and vital sign monitoring, to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of our residents.
  • Lead and Mentor: Supervise and mentor Licensed Practical Nurses and other nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standard of care.
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Team: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure comprehensive support.
  • Document and Communicate: Accurately document patient information, communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members, and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and a valid CPR certificate.
  • Experience and Skills: Minimum 3 years of experience in long-term care, with a strong background in gerontology and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a compassionate and empathetic approach, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
