Renewable Energy Technician - Southern Alberta

This role involves the upkeep and servicing of large-scale solar and battery storage systems in Southern Alberta. Candidates should possess the qualifications necessary to work on both electrical and mechanical components of renewable energy assets.

Key Responsibilities of a Renewable Energy Technician:

  • Strict adherence to Health and Safety regulations to maintain a secure work environment
  • Completion of safety documentation prior to commencing each task
  • Conducting technical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance procedures
  • Executing energization and de-energization protocols
  • Reading and interpreting schematics and technical drawings
  • Performing quality assurance checks and inspections
  • Implementing maintenance requirements alongside industry best practices
  • Daily reporting and thorough documentation of activities
  • Participating in weekend service duties on a rotational basis
  • Identifying and resolving issues that arise during projects
  • Maintaining cleanliness and safety at work sites
  • Managing spare parts inventory effectively

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background
  • Electrical or mechanical training is advantageous
