Solar Energy Maintenance Expert - Southern Alberta

The Solar Energy Maintenance Expert will be responsible for the upkeep and servicing of large-scale solar and battery storage systems within the Southern Alberta area. The individual must possess the necessary skills and qualifications to handle both electrical and mechanical components of renewable energy assets.

Key Responsibilities of the Solar Energy Maintenance Expert:

  • Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations to ensure a zero-incident work environment
  • Complete necessary safety documentation prior to commencing work, including safety meetings and electrical work permits
  • Conduct technical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to optimize performance and production
  • Manage energization and de-energization processes
  • Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) plans and procedures
  • Read and interpret schematics and blueprints
  • Perform quality assurance checks and inspections to identify deficiencies and necessary corrective actions
  • Follow original equipment manufacturer (OEM) maintenance guidelines along with company standards and industry best practices such as NETA MTS, CSA Z463, NFPA 70E, etc.
  • Document all work performed digitally on a daily basis
  • Collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being able to work independently when required
  • Participate in on-call weekend services on a rotating basis
  • Provide feedback on issues and contribute to the ongoing development of projects
  • Be available for overtime work as necessary
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of sites, including buildings, vegetation, fences, gates, and roads
  • Organize and maintain spare parts inventory

Qualifications for the Solar Energy Maintenance Expert:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education in electrical or mechanical fields is advantageous
  • State-certified Journeyman license is a plus
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) is beneficial
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn
  • Proficiency in digital tools and software, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Electrical and mechanical skills and experience
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with customers
