About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Project Engineer to join our team at Contact Energy, working on the Glenbrook Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. As a key member of our Construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of this large-scale renewable energy project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the construction of site works, including earthworks, trenching, civil, foundation works, and buildings.
  • Ensure industry-best safety and quality outcomes across the project.
  • Review designs for long-term suitability and constructability.
  • Manage project risks and support mitigation efforts.
  • Coordinate with contractors and ensure smooth on-site operations.
  • Provide regular updates on key milestones, costs, and risk issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • A relevant degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
  • Ideally, 5+ years of experience on large complex civil and electrical projects, preferably in the Power/Renewable sector.
  • Experience in EPC and Design Build contracting frameworks as a Client-Side Project Engineer.
  • Strong communication skills - ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • A team player and skilled at building relationships and navigating stakeholder dynamics.
  • A proactive problem-solver who can navigate complex issues.
