Position: Solar Technician

Spark Power, a reputable leader in the energy sector across North America, is seeking a Solar Technician to contribute to our mission.

The Solar Technician will be responsible for the upkeep and servicing of large-scale solar and battery storage installations within the designated region. The ideal candidate must possess the necessary skills and qualifications to handle both electrical and mechanical components of renewable energy assets.

Key Responsibilities of the Solar Technician:

  • Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations to ensure a zero-incident work environment
  • Complete all necessary safety documentation prior to commencing work, including safety meetings and electrical work permits
  • Conduct technical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to enhance system performance
  • Implement energization and de-energization protocols
  • Execute Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) plans and procedures
  • Read and interpret schematics and blueprints
  • Perform quality assurance inspections and maintain documentation of any deficiencies
  • Follow Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) maintenance guidelines alongside company standards and industry best practices
  • Document all work performed digitally on a daily basis
  • Collaborate effectively in a team setting while also being capable of working independently
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for weekend services
  • Provide feedback on ongoing projects and identify areas for improvement
  • Be available for overtime work as required
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of all sites, including buildings and surrounding areas
  • Organize and maintain spare parts inventory

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Post-secondary education in electrical or mechanical fields is advantageous
  • State certification as a Journeyman is a plus
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) is beneficial
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving history
  • Ability to lift weights up to 75 pounds
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn
  • Proficiency in digital tools and software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical systems
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with clients
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions
  • Commitment to safety practices
