Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Program Supervisor to join our team at World of Joy Child Care Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Design and implement child-care programs that cater to the diverse needs of children, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train staff, trainees, or volunteers to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality care and education to children.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with early childhood educators to carry out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Leadership: Lead activities that promote learning and development, such as storytelling, teaching songs, and taking children on outings.
  • Logistics: Order supplies and equipment, and assist in maintaining records and reports.
  • Child Development: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Communication: Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings and submit written observations to early childhood educators or supervisors.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure knowledge of licensing regulations and establish guidelines for behavior.
  • Environment: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Program Planning: Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.
  • Teamwork: Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.
  • Certifications: Child Development Supervisor (ECE level 3).
  • Personal Qualities: Punctuality, judgement, team player, creativity, ability to multitask.
Working Conditions
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 32 to 40 hours per week.
