Job Summary

The Technical Specialist is a key member of the Encore Canada team, responsible for delivering exceptional audiovisual experiences for live events. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Operation
    • Set up, operate, and break down advanced audiovisual equipment for live events, ensuring flawless execution and client satisfaction.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems quickly, minimizing downtime and ensuring a positive experience for clients and attendees.
    • Comply with all Encore Canada security and safety measures, ensuring the well-being of team members, clients, and attendees.
    • Ensure equipment is secure from theft and/or damage when in use, maintaining a high level of accountability and responsibility.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional service to internal and external clients, striving to exceed their expectations and needs.
    • Maintain a positive relationship with clients through effective communication, ensuring their needs are met and their expectations are exceeded.
    • Collaborate with internal team members to develop event solutions, ensuring seamless execution and client satisfaction.
    • Understand and foster the hotel/client relationship, promoting a positive and professional image of Encore Canada.
  • Training/Staff Development
    • Create an atmosphere that fosters the development of technical and leadership skills in other team members.
    • Provide mentorship and coaching to technical, sales, and operations team members, helping them develop the skills needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Event Supervision
    • Perform advanced work with operations team members, ensuring seamless execution and client satisfaction.
    • Supervise and direct other technicians during events, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Equipment Maintenance
    • Assist the team with proper security, storage, transportation, and maintenance of equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
    • Perform inventory and forecasting of equipment needs, ensuring the team has the necessary resources to deliver exceptional events.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred, demonstrating a strong foundation in technical and business principles.
  • Encore Technical Level 3 Certification is required, ensuring a high level of technical expertise and proficiency.
  • 2 - Encore Technical Level Two Core Certifications are required (Audio, Lighting, Projection, Video, Scenic), demonstrating a strong foundation in technical skills.
  • 4+ years of field experience in specialty area is required, providing a high level of technical expertise and proficiency.
  • 3-5 years of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred, demonstrating a strong ability to interact with clients and team members.
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse workforce, customer base, and senior-level management.
  • Experience with project management of multiple tasks/initiatives, ensuring seamless execution and client satisfaction.
  • Strong customer, client, and coworker interface experience and abilities, promoting a positive and professional image of Encore Canada.
  • A valid driver's license is required for team members in positions that may operate Company vehicles, ensuring safe and responsible transportation.
