SFU IT Services plays a crucial role in empowering the university to excel and innovate through effective data and technology utilization, focusing on enhancing the digital experience for students, researchers, staff, and external clients.

Role Overview

This position involves delivering comprehensive support services to students, faculty, staff, and external clients regarding audio-visual and computing equipment and facilities managed by IT Services at the Vancouver Campus. Responsibilities include troubleshooting minor software issues and resolving equipment problems. The role requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends, with the possibility of being called in on short notice to cover shifts. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • High school diploma and relevant coursework or training in computing and audio-visual technology.
  • A minimum of 6 months of related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of computers, operating systems, and servers.
  • Ability to set up and operate audio-visual and computing equipment.
  • Skills to troubleshoot minor software issues.
  • Capability to perform minor repairs and maintenance on audio-visual and computing devices.
  • Proficiency in using various hand tools, such as screwdrivers and pliers.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 25kg.

Additional Information
