Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Audio Visual Technician to join our team at Microserve. As a key member of our AV team, you will be responsible for leading and directing installation crews on large and complex projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Commissioning
    • Perform installation tasks for audio visual projects, including system commissioning, cable pulls, cable terminations, and system equipment and component installation.
    • Lead and direct installation crews on large and complex projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of services.
  • Leadership and Mentorship
    • Demonstrate job site leadership and provide mentorship to all site technicians on site.
    • Verify the quality of work and ensure that all installations meet the required standards.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
    • Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors, and perform various other installation system-related tasks.
    • Test point-to-point cabling and functionality of systems.
    • Test code for control and DSP systems, and make minor programming changes under the direction of an engineer or programmer.
  • Client Communication and Support
    • Communicate updates on site status to the project coordinator and complete required job documentation.
    • Perform client training and provide overview of system functionality.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Track, manage, and secure all associated equipment and tools on the jobsite.
    • Install projector and screen support structure when necessary.
    • Document processes as needed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in audiovisual, electronics, or related industry installation experience.
  • Formal education in Audio Visual, Electronics, or related field preferred.
  • Valid and current AVIXA CTS-I General Certification preferred.
  • Manufacturer training/certificates such as Biamp, QSC, Crestron, AMX, Extron, etc.
  • Project site lead role experience is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (mileage is paid).
  • Able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Able to work with basic handheld tools.
  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal record check.
