Senior Director of Credit Auditing in Commercial Banking

Position Overview:
The Senior Director of Credit Audit in Commercial Banking is responsible for overseeing comprehensive audit engagements that critically evaluate management practices and internal control frameworks. This role is essential in delivering clear and impactful audit reports that assist senior management in fulfilling their governance responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead audit engagements to assess and enhance the effectiveness of internal controls and risk management processes.
- Provide expert guidance on credit audit matters within the commercial banking sector.
- Engage with executive leadership to offer insights on risk governance and internal controls related to strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify evolving strategies and assess their implications on risk environments.
- Serve as the primary liaison for external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
- Ensure audits are conducted in alignment with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
- Drive high performance within the audit team through effective leadership and development strategies.
- Utilize data analytics to enhance audit quality and operational efficiency.
- Maintain independence and objectivity in all audit activities.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to inform audit practices.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in audit leadership within the credit and commercial banking sectors.
- Relevant professional designations such as CIA or CPA-Audit.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial banking operations and credit risk management.
- Proven track record of leading audit teams and managing complex audit engagements.
