Ambulatory Care Unit Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to join our Ambulatory Care team at North York General Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide administrative support to our busy Outpatient Clinic, ensuring seamless communication and coordination with patients, staff, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to the Outpatient Clinic, including coordinating appointments, managing patient records, and processing medical orders.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure timely and accurate information exchange.
- Coordinate interdepartmental activities, including transportation of patients for tests and services.
- Assume responsibility for identifying and escalating issues to the Clinical Team Manager or Registered Nurse in a timely manner.
- Compile and disseminate program activity reports and statistics.
- Manage unit supplies, services, and repair needs.
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Secretary/Medical Office Assistant certificate or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Minimum of one year comparable office experience, preferably with medical/surgical orientation.
- Experience working in an ambulatory clinic setting.
- Proficiency in required computer programs.
- Accurate and efficient typing skills of 45 w.p.m.
- Bilingualism in French/English an asset.

This is a Part Time Permanent position, with 8 hour shifts, Days and Evenings in Ambulatory Care.
