Job Summary

The Health Care Aide plays a vital role in the healthcare team, providing essential support to patients and contributing to the overall well-being of our clients. As a member of the Shared Health team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide basic supportive care, including feeding, toileting, and transferring patients.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require lifting, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous patient care experience.
  • Knowledge of personal health information, workplace hazardous materials, and principles of routine practices.
  • Ability to speak an Indigenous language and/or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
