Patient Care Support Specialist

Under the guidance of Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, and Licensed Practical Nurses, the Patient Care Support Specialist plays a vital role in our healthcare team. This position involves assisting with patient care and providing essential supportive services to ensure a positive and comfortable experience for every individual.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality patient care, adhering to established safety protocols and best practices.
  • Contribute to a safe and clean environment by maintaining equipment and performing other related duties.
  • Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team, demonstrating excellent communication skills and fostering a supportive atmosphere.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to critical situations as required.
Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of Grade XII or an equivalent education is essential.
  • Completion of a recognized Health Care Assistant program is mandatory, or enrollment in a University Nursing Program with the successful completion of year two.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required for positions within Emergency, Intensive Care, and Central Relief Team settings.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using appropriate body mechanics and transfer techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are essential.
