Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nursing Assistant - Patient Care Specialist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care by assisting with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist with medical procedures and treatments, as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations and policies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and support services.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required, such as updating patient records and communicating with families.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of a Health Care Aide and Unit Clerk program preferred.
  • Basic keyboarding skills (30-50 words per minute) required.
  • Medical terminology (75% pass mark) required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment with frequent interruptions. The successful candidate must be able to function effectively in a stressful environment and be able to lift, transfer, and transport patients and equipment as required.
