Job Summary

Hydro Ottawa is seeking a seasoned Labour Relations Manager to join its Human Resources team. As a key member of the organization, you will be responsible for fostering positive and constructive labour relations with bargaining agents and their representatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement labour relations and collective bargaining strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Represent management in collective bargaining, grievance and arbitration procedures, and other tribunals as required.
  • Oversee the disciplinary and grievance management processes, ensuring compliance with employment and labour legislation.
  • Provide expert advice and consultation on the administration and interpretation of collective agreements, Hydro Ottawa's Code of Business Conduct, policies, and procedures.
  • Liaise with internal and external legal counsel as needed.
  • Lead human resources initiatives for mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence reviews and transition strategies.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management, Commerce/Business Administration, Public Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Industrial Relations or a related field considered an asset.
  • Minimum ten years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources, Labour Relations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading collective bargaining and labour relations initiatives.
  • Superior knowledge of labour relations, human resources, and employment and labour legislation in Ontario.
  • Excellent communication, project management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
  • English language skills essential; bilingualism (French/English) preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in office productivity and collaboration tools.
