Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to contribute to the Combined Medical-Surgical Nursing unit. Relocation assistance may be provided, and candidates could qualify for a financial recruitment incentive of up to $20,000, subject to specific conditions.
As a Registered Nurse at VCH, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting assessments, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
- Engaging in discharge planning, advocating for patients, and educating patients and their families on health matters.
- Enhancing the quality of life from the perspective of patients and their families.
- Documenting care provided and responding to incidents following established protocols.
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
- Maintaining and advancing your clinical skills and knowledge.
- Participating in designated committees and approved research initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Skills & Competencies
- Proven nursing practice skills related to the designated patient population.
- Ability to develop and implement effective care plans.
- Capacity to adapt to unexpected situations, solve problems, prioritize tasks, and manage conflicts.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Skills in counseling and educating patients and their families.
- Leadership capabilities demonstrated through initiative and independence.
- Proficiency in clinical techniques and the use of relevant medical equipment.
- Competence in CPR techniques.
- Ability to operate related equipment, including computerized patient care systems.
- Physical capability to perform the duties of the position.

Work hours, including days off and work areas, may be subject to change based on operational needs and relevant agreements. Successful candidates may need to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
