We are looking for a Registered Nurse to contribute to the Combined Medical-Surgical Nursing unit. This position offers a chance to make a significant impact on patient care and health outcomes.
Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse at VCH include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Engaging in discharge planning, advocating for patients, and educating patients and their families on health matters. Enhancing the quality of life from the perspective of patients and their families. Documenting care provided and responding to incidents in line with established protocols. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Maintaining and advancing personal clinical skills and knowledge. Participating in designated committees and approved research initiatives as assigned.About the Community

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).Skills & Competencies
Proven nursing practice skills relevant to the designated patient population. Ability to develop and implement effective care plans. Capacity to adapt to unforeseen circumstances, solve problems, prioritize tasks, and manage conflicts. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. Proficiency in counseling and educating patients and their families. Leadership qualities demonstrated through initiative and independence. Competence in clinical techniques and the use of necessary medical equipment. Proficiency in CPR techniques. Capability to operate relevant equipment, including computerized patient care systems. Physical ability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.Additional Information
Work hours, including days off and work areas, may vary based on operational needs and collective agreements. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
