Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses to become part of the Labour & Delivery unit. This role involves providing exceptional nursing care to expectant mothers and other patients in a medical/surgical setting.
Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Obstetrics/Medical/Surgical include:
Delivering comprehensive perinatal nursing care through thorough assessments of both the client and fetus, while also attending to other assigned medical/surgical patients. Enhancing the quality of life from the viewpoint of clients and their families. Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care. Committing to continuous improvement and implementing best practices in nursing. Advancing your clinical skills and knowledge through ongoing education. Qualifications Required
Education & Experience
Active registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Completion of an accredited advanced nursing specialty program in perinatal nursing or a minimum of two years of relevant experience.Skills & Competencies
Extensive knowledge of nursing principles and practices within a client-centered care framework. Familiarity with BCCNM's standards for nursing practice. Proven ability to implement care plans and assess client responses effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams. Demonstrated leadership abilities and a commitment to mentoring new staff and students. Proficiency in clinical techniques and the use of relevant medical equipment. Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.Closing Remarks
