Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Specialist to join our team at qathet General Hospital in Powell River, BC. As a Nurse Specialist, you will provide high-quality nursing care to clients in an ambulatory care setting, working independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to clients, assessing their needs and developing individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication.
- Conduct health assessments, develop and implement care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Provide education and support to clients and their families, promoting health and wellness.
Requirements
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of one year's recent, related experience working in an outpatient care environment or with clients of similar diagnostic illness.
- May require additional certification related to the designated specialized clinical area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Broad knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client/family-centered model of care.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the etiology, physiology, manifestations, and treatment of specialty diseases related to designated client groups.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement plans of care in relation to client/family priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to assess client responses to care and respond appropriately.
