Job Summary

As a key member of the Group Risk Management team at Royal Bank of Canada, you will play a critical role in ensuring the bank's commercial lending activities are managed with sound judgment and adherence to policy. This position requires a strong risk assessment and analysis skillset, with the ability to partner with business and commercial markets leaders to manage assigned portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess commercial credit submissions between $3MM and $15MM, reviewing exceptions to credit policy and ensuring accuracy of risk assessment.
  • Influence portfolio quality through strategic assessment and management of risk, identifying risk issues and taking proactive action to mitigate them.
  • Coach and counsel account managers on risk management best practices, monitoring portfolio trends and staying up-to-date on credit administration and compliance trends.
  • Represent the bank and risk management in the marketplace, dealing directly with commercial account managers and vice presidents.
Requirements
  • Previous business or commercial banking experience, or relevant alternate experience.
  • Strong risk assessment and analysis skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong listening and negotiating capabilities, with effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of risk policies, procedures, and practices, with proficiency in all standard bank technology and systems.
  • University education, with post-graduate qualifications or relevant work experience.
