Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Land Development team as an Associate Director. This role is pivotal in driving KingSett's entitlement initiatives, requiring a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.

Key Responsibilities

The Associate Director will collaborate closely with the Senior Vice President and Vice President to:

  • Facilitate application submissions by coordinating with the consultant team.
  • Manage deliverables associated with applications throughout the approval process.
  • Coordinate necessary agency approvals.
  • Support community engagement initiatives related to development projects.
  • Monitor city-wide planning studies, including OPA's, HCD's, and SASP's, to safeguard KingSett's development interests.
  • Gather fee proposals, analyze mandates, and prepare entitlement budgets.
  • Assist in quarterly reporting to investors, joint venture partners, and the executive team.
Candidate Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in real estate development, ideally in a similar role with another developer.
  • An undergraduate degree in Urban Planning, Geography, or a related discipline.
  • In-depth knowledge of the entitlement process, including official plans, rezoning, and site applications.
  • Familiarity with the City of Toronto's planning policies.
  • Experience in preparing and processing materials for OPA, ZBA, MV, and SPA applications.
  • Proficiency in corporate reporting and budget preparation.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to attend public meetings during evenings as necessary.
