Role Summary:
The Tax Associate Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accurate preparation and submission of state and federal tax documents. This position is responsible for developing tax strategies and policies that ensure compliance with local and federal tax regulations. The Tax Associate Director also identifies tax-related challenges and formulates effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Deliver comprehensive tax services in accordance with US taxation laws and regulations within the specified timeframe.
- Oversee and manage the preparation and review of federal and state tax returns, ensuring the accurate and timely filing of all necessary tax forms.
- Implement effective control measures over all aspects of the tax process.
- Stay informed on legislative and regulatory tax law changes, communicate their implications to management and the tax team, and devise strategies to leverage these changes.
- Foster relationships and engage with clients to provide exceptional planning, consulting, and expertise.
- Identify and mitigate potential tax risks.
- Enhance processes by developing or implementing best practices.
- Guide and mentor tax team members to improve their effectiveness and engagement.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax reviewers.
- Regularly review and update all tax documentation and manage all information data requests.
- Calculate quarterly estimated tax payments.
- Conduct research and respond to various inquiries from clients and tax authorities.
- Address ad-hoc tax compliance requests from clients and partners/investors.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in fund administration or a related field.
- Preferred candidates will possess a current CPA certification, an advanced degree such as a Master's in Taxation or JD and/or LLM, or related degrees.
- Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
- Extensive knowledge of tax regulations related to fund administration and a solid understanding of U.S. partnership taxation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with CCH Axcess Tax software is preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with stakeholders, effectively communicating the benefits of tax initiatives.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
