Technical Apparel Designer Responsibilities:

  • Create technical sketches of clothing items
  • Develop detailed sample garment sketches, incorporating any necessary changes
  • Illustrate all garment details and views (front, back, and inside) on sketches to ensure clear communication of the complete garment construction to vendors
  • Generate comprehensive tech packs within the PLM System
  • Maintain and update tech packs and recaps
  • Collaborate effectively with design, graphic design, and production teams
  • Input styles into the style library
  • Manage the sending, receiving, and follow-up of parcels to suppliers or customers
  • Provide support to the design and graphic design teams as needed
  • Follow up on various matters arising from team meetings

Qualifications:

  • Proactive attitude; Resourceful, Responsible
  • Highly motivated, Creative, and Enthusiastic
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask effectively
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of outerwear is an asset
  • Fashion design diploma required
  • 2 years of experience in a similar role within the garment or manufacturing industry
  • Proficiency with Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with PLM systems is an asset
