About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Fashion Design Director to join our team at Centric Brands. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the design process for our ladies apparel products, from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement design strategies to drive business growth and profitability
  • Lead a team of designers to create high-quality, on-trend designs that meet customer needs and expectations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, production, and sourcing, to ensure design plans are aligned with business objectives
  • Conduct market research and trend analysis to stay up-to-date on the latest fashion trends and consumer preferences
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services
  • Manage design budgets and resources to ensure efficient use of time and materials
  • Ensure all designs meet quality and safety standards
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve design processes and outcomes
Requirements
  • 12+ years of experience in ladies apparel design, with a strong background in fashion design and trend forecasting
  • Excellent understanding of the contemporary and lifestyle markets on a global scale
  • Excellent understanding of knits, wovens, blouses, and bottoms
  • Dedication to quality and sustainability
  • Ability to take ownership and be accountable for design decisions and outcomes
  • Ability to take direction and be coachable and adaptable
  • Ability to forecast and understand market trends, and how, if at all, they are to be addressed
  • Ability to inspire and confidently campaign for ideas and proposals
  • Thorough understanding of apparel constructions, materials, costing, and processes
  • Highly motivated, creative, and enthusiastic
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate strategically with cross-functional partners and drive towards shared success and outcomes
  • Hands-on experience leading teams and developing design talent
  • Strong proficiency of MS Office Suite
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Knowledge of PLM is an asset
  • Experience in creating technical drawings, CAD & illustrations
