Position Summary:

As a Business Development Manager, you will act as the single point of contact for NUERA solutions and service sales across all product areas, with a primary focus on over the road but not limited to air freight and ocean freight, within the province of Alberta and customer base.

You will foster client relationships for the movement of all goods over the road, import and export cargo for Sea Freight in both FCL & LCL, Air Freight, while maintaining a close strategic relationship and communication with clients to ensure ongoing needs support.

You will obtain new customers through sales activity, developing relationships, and correctly assessing the prospective account to secure business while generating an opportunity pipeline.

Essential Functions:
  1. Act as the single point of contact for NUERA solutions and service sales across all product areas, with a primary focus on over the road but not limited to air freight and ocean freight, within the province of Alberta and customer base.
  2. Foster client relationships for the movement of all goods over the road, import and export cargo for Sea Freight in both FCL & LCL, Air Freight, while maintaining a close strategic relationship and communication with clients to ensure ongoing needs support.
  3. Aggressively obtain new customers through sales "hunting" activity, developing relationships, and correctly assessing the prospective account to secure business while generating an opportunity pipeline.
  4. Perform all aspects of the sales process and input & update all relevant activities utilizing CRM daily.
  5. Onboard new customers and collaborate with senior management team to escalate opportunities.
  6. Maintain and update opportunity pipeline reports and timely entry of sales calls reports.
  7. Interact regularly with local management and develop close and cooperative working relationships with operations staff to ensure customer needs are met.
  8. Develop a growth strategy and set quotas focused on financial gain and profitability to meet revenue targets.
  9. Set up and attend face-to-face meetings with clients by providing presentations, conducting appropriate needs analysis, actively listening, and offering NUERA Solutions to their logistics and supply chain needs.
  10. You will be expected to visit clients to discuss services, offer solutions, prepare quotations, participate on RFQ/RFI/RFP's, and work as a liaison between NUERA and clients while assisting on any disputes that may arise with NUERA's personnel, agents, or third-party service providers.
  11. In addition, you will be expected to manage and monitor business volumes from assigned client base to ensure existing levels of revenue are maintained while increasing sales volumes, revenues, and profits based on predetermined target levels.
  12. You are expected to develop a growth strategy and set quotas focused on financial gain and profitability to meet revenue targets while establishing a win/win relationship for NUERA and its clients.
  13. You will work regularly in alignment with all other department managers and develop a close and cooperative working relationship to ensure customer needs are met while focusing on continuous improvement and commitment to exceptional customer service.
Requirements:

You will be responsible to help secure new business and increase our market share in Canada.

Education Requirement:

Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline preferred.

Required Skills and Knowledge:
  1. 2+ years experience in a Business Development role preferred.
  2. 2+ years experience working for a 3PL preferred.
  3. 2+ years experience in field sales in over the road freight sales.
  4. Additional operational experience in air and ocean freight will be considered an asset.
  5. Fluency in CRM, Cargowise systems an asset.
  6. Basic PC Knowledge along with MS Office applications experience is required.
  7. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  8. Proven solution selling, business development, and customer service skills.
  9. Experience in developing a database of qualified sales leads and opportunities through referrals, telephone, face-to-face, cold calling to all levels of leadership in the industry.
  10. Self-Motivated, results-oriented with a strong desire to succeed.
  11. Excellent organization, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  12. Excellent ability to gather and understand clients' needs, submit detailed business information to NUERA's management for appropriate pricing and presentation of solutions to identified clients' business needs and requirements.
  13. Commitment to fulfilling the agreed daily/weekly/monthly customer calls KPI's and revenue targets.
