Senior Equity Recruitment Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Senior Equity Recruitment Manager at the University of Toronto. This is a senior leadership role that will play a key part in shaping our student recruitment strategies and ensuring that they are informed by the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership to a team of student recruitment staff, ensuring that they are well-prepared to represent the university through training, staff development, coaching, and access to data.
- Work closely with the communications team and divisional colleagues to develop equity-based presentations, ensuring that key university messaging is appropriately embedded.
- Develop strong, trustworthy relationships with equity stakeholders internally and externally, representing the university in all areas.
- Have a strong understanding of Strategic Enrolment Management Principles and Equity Deserving Communities, and how these intersect.
- Provide input into strategic planning processes by preparing recruitment-related data for review by the Director.
- Hold strong relationships and work with the DUA, Indigenous Initiatives Office, and First Nations House to review and/or develop appropriate plans in respect to efforts for student recruitment.
- Function as the primary point of contact for departmental inquiries on issues related to EDI student recruitment matters, both from a strategic and a case-by-case perspective.
- Serve as a representative on various university-level committees and task forces on topics related to EDI, and support the activation of EDI work led by other partner offices at the University.
- University degree (preferably from the University of Toronto); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least ten (10) years of recruitment experience; a thorough and extensive knowledge of the educational system at all levels.
- Extensive experience and knowledge of EDI principles, with proven experience as an organizational leader, particularly around initiatives that promote diversity, access, and inclusion.
- Demonstrated experience and commitment to upholding the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion, and possess a strong understanding of related issues, including anti-oppression, anti-Black racism, anti-Indigenous racism, microaggressions, accessibility, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, and sexual violence issues.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding in how international students and staff experience EDI principles and initiatives, and an ability to be inclusive in the support of EDI work with these populations.
- Demonstrated experience and competence in developing targeted training to diverse groups.
- Counselling experience; public speaking and public relations experience.
- Administrative experience at junior management level or higher.
- Experience with discerning which applicants need personal counselling.
- Strong knowledge of computer, particularly for presentations (Iron Point, Word Press, HTML, Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat Pro, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Flash, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access), Picasa, CD/DVD creation and duplication).
- Student Systems (CRM, ROSI).
- Knowledge of databases including Admissions Cube (or related data warehouse knowledge).
- Demonstrated abilities working with social and multi-media tools and channels, such as Facebook, YouTube and videos.
