In alignment with the organization's vision, values, and strategic goals, the Community Support Specialist II works collaboratively within an interprofessional health care team. Under the guidance of the Team Lead or designated clinical supervisor, this role involves delivering home support services tailored to a pre-defined care plan.

Key responsibilities include assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal planning, and preparation, all while fostering maximum independence.

Additionally, the role encompasses performing delegated tasks for which appropriate training has been completed. A crucial aspect of this position is to ensure the welfare of individuals and families, promoting self-sufficiency within the community.


Compensation:
The updated wage is: $29.60/hour

Required Qualifications
  • Completion of a recognized Home Support Attendant or Resident Care Aid Program.
  • Registration with the BC Care Aid & Community Health Worker Registry.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
  • Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Food Safety.
  • Access to a personal vehicle.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
  • Ability to build and maintain rapport with clients.
  • Skill in observing and identifying changes in client conditions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with clients, families, and the care team.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in operating relevant equipment.
  • Home management expertise.
