Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Specialist to join our team at School District #91 (Nechako Lakes). As a key member of our educational team, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students.
  • Provide academic support to students in a group or individual setting, including assistance with assignments, projects, and assessments.
  • Act as an advocate for students and contribute to a positive and inclusive school environment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with students, parents, and school staff to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in areas such as special education, behavior management, and instructional strategies.
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
  • Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate program
  • BC driver's license - Class 5 Full Privileged and an exemplary driving record/current driver's abstract
  • 6 months of experience working with children/youth who have intellectual/behavioral or multiple disabilities
  • WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures
