Position Overview

In alignment with the organization's vision, values, and strategic objectives, the Community Support Specialist, as part of a collaborative healthcare team, and under the guidance of the Team Lead or designated clinical supervisor, delivers home assistance services to clients following a pre-defined care plan.

Responsibilities include aiding with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal planning and preparation, while fostering maximum independence for clients.

Executes assigned tasks for which training has been completed.

A crucial aspect of this role is to ensure the health and safety of individuals and families, promoting independent living within the community.


Work Schedule: : Days, 07:00 to 18:00 (Rotating)

Qualifications:
  • Completion of a recognized Home Support Attendant/Resident Care Aid Program.
  • Registration with the BC Care Aid & Community Health Worker Registry.
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
  • Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Food Safe.
  • Access to a personal vehicle.
  • Or a combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Physical capability to perform job duties.
  • Ability to build and maintain rapport with clients.
  • Capacity to observe and identify changes in clients' conditions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with clients, families, and the care team.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Proficiency in operating relevant equipment.
  • Home management expertise.
