Learning Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Specialist to join our team at School District #91 (Nechako Lakes). As a key member of our school-based team, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to foster and develop the individual student's potential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assistance to teachers and other professionals in the delivery of regular or alternate programs with a group or individual students.
- Function as an advocate for the students and as a member of the school-based team where required.
- Work collaboratively with school and district staff to develop and implement strategies to support student learning and achievement.
- Assist with the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and other support plans.
- Provide support and guidance to students with diverse learning needs, including those with intellectual, behavioral, or multiple disabilities.
- Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
- Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate program
- BC driver's license - Class 5 Full Privileged and an exemplary driving record/current driver's abstract
- 6 months of experience working with children/youth who have intellectual/behavioral or multiple disabilities
- WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures
