Accounting Policy Manager, Senior

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to join our team at Scotiabank. The successful candidate will be responsible for researching and developing accounting policies and procedures, as well as their implementation for the Bank.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure that key areas of the Bank are aware of and appropriately prepare for and manage the impact of new and emerging accounting standards.
- Implement the complex accounting requirements for the assigned business lines.
- Provide advice and counsel on specialized transactions where required.
- Develop and maintain the accounting monograph (i.e., IFRS policies) and implementation guidelines on a timely basis.
- Actively participate in the development and interpretation of new and proposed accounting standards.
- Be organized and able to manage multiple projects/initiatives/reviews simultaneously.
- Have solid financial acumen and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Be accurate and pay attention to detail while working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Have superior communication skills, both orally and in written memos and other forms of communication.
- Be a team player with the willingness to take on additional projects and responsibilities to achieve the group's overall objectives and goals.
