Job Summary:
The Senior Accounting Policy Manager will play a key role in ensuring the Bank's financial reporting is accurate and compliant with regulatory requirements. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures, as well as providing guidance and support to senior leaders and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to senior leaders and stakeholders on accounting matters.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address accounting risks and issues.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and industry groups to stay up-to-date on accounting standards and requirements.
- Prepare and present reports on accounting policy matters to senior management and industry and regulatory bodies as appropriate.
- Stay up-to-date on new accounting standards and analyze impacts to policy and standards.
- Support the development of financial statements and financial disclosure documents to ensure consolidated Bank results meet International Financial Reporting Standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and/or certification in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- One or more of the following preferred: MBA, CA, CFA, CGA, CMA.
- Advanced understanding of SOX, IFRS, and GAAP requirements and potential impacts.
- Ability to interpret Policy / program direction and realign/develop strategies accordingly.
- Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
- Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.
- Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth / Expert.
- Influence skills - In-depth / Expert.
- Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration - In-depth / Expert.
- Able to manage ambiguity.
