Senior Accounting Policy Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Policy Manager to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our finance and accounting team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial statements and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Provide strategic input into business decisions and advise senior leaders on accounting matters.
- Oversee the execution of accounting policy programs and assess their effectiveness.
- Monitor new accounting standards and analyze their impacts on our financial statements and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide feedback on significant accounting issues and financial reporting matters.
- Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and/or certification in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced understanding of SOX, IFRS, and GAAP requirements and potential impacts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret policy direction and realign strategies accordingly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate to achieve business objectives.
