We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Conflict Resolution Specialist to join our dedicated team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support in resolving workplace conflicts within a complex unionized environment. Your expertise in alternative dispute resolution, restorative practices, and mediation will be instrumental in fostering a positive and harmonious work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive human resource services, coaching, and conflict resolution support to employees and management within a complex unionized setting.
  • Utilize your expertise in alternative dispute resolution, restorative practices, and mediation to effectively resolve workplace conflicts.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions on conflict management, communication skills, and other relevant topics.
  • Conduct thorough workplace investigations and assessments, ensuring impartiality and adherence to legal and organizational guidelines.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote a culture of respect, collaboration, and conflict resolution within the organization.
  • Stay abreast of current legislation, case law, and best practices in human resources management and conflict resolution.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A post-secondary degree or certificate in a relevant field, such as Human Resources Management, Conflict Resolution, or Adult Education.
  • Minimum five years of experience providing human resource services, coaching, and conflict resolution within a complex unionized environment.
  • Formal training and/or experience in mediation and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Proven ability to conduct workplace investigations and assessments effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of cultural responsiveness and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees at all levels.
