Job Title: PlayON Team Leader

At the YMCA of Greater Toronto, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced PlayON Team Leader to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading a team of instructors in planning and implementing high-quality recreation-based programs for children and youth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the PlayON team in planning and delivering programs that promote physical activity, socialization, and skill development.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, schools, and other stakeholders to ensure program relevance and effectiveness.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to develop and implement program evaluations and assessments.
  • Supervise and support instructors in their roles, providing coaching and mentoring as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other events to stay up-to-date on YMCA initiatives and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as recreation and leisure, child and youth, or education.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with children and youth in a group setting, preferably in a recreation or education setting.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is an asset.
  • Current Standard First Aid/CPR C certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
