Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality recreation-based programs that meet the needs of our community.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to PlayON Instructors, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional programs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and staff to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator to develop and implement program schedules, budgets, and marketing strategies.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise PlayON Instructors, ensuring they meet the required qualifications and standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with schools, community groups, and other stakeholders to promote program participation.
  • Ensure compliance with YMCA policies, procedures, and regulations, including child protection and safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as recreation, education, or child and youth development.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in program development and delivery, preferably in a recreation or youth services setting.
  • Proven leadership and coaching skills, with experience in supervising staff and volunteers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and practices, with a focus on promoting healthy child development.
  • First Aid/CPR certification, with the ability to obtain additional certifications as required.
