Become a Vital Member of Our Team as a Clinical Social Services Specialist at The Royal Mental Health Centre

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop targeted treatment plans for adolescents and their families.
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions adhering to established best practices.
  • Engage in thorough risk evaluations and formulate crisis intervention strategies.
  • Act as an advocate for clients while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment progress, and related reports.
  • Participate in research initiatives, educational activities, and supervisory roles.
  • Stay informed about the latest professional standards and regulatory policies.
  • Contribute to committees and deliver educational presentations.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and anti-discrimination policies.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work is mandatory.
  • 2-3 years of relevant clinical experience in mental health is essential.
  • Must be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
  • Experience working with youth and families in mental health contexts is required.
  • Familiarity with concurrent disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and evidence-based treatment methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in psychotherapy techniques, including CBT, DBT, or other therapeutic modalities.
  • Understanding of early onset psychosis and substance use issues in young populations.
  • Knowledge of community resources and recovery-oriented programs.
  • Capability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritize effectively.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems for documentation purposes.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a dependable vehicle are required.
  • English proficiency at level A-; bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.

Compensation: $44.67 to $57.90 per hour
