Position Overview: The Clinical Support Specialist role is tailored for International Medical Graduates or Internationally Trained Physicians eager to familiarize themselves with the Canadian healthcare landscape while pursuing medical licensing in North America. This position involves working closely with a physician, acting as a vital support resource in the examination room.
Compensation:
- Hourly wage of $17.05, with potential bonuses based on individual contributions.
- Completion of training milestones within the initial weeks of employment is required.
- After a probationary period, a Performance Review will be conducted, opening opportunities for specialty training.
- Additional bonuses available for participation in specialized programs.
Key Responsibilities: As a Clinical Support Specialist, you will:
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Assist in triaging patients, gathering medical histories, and conducting basic physical assessments.
- Manage patient scheduling and optimize clinic operations to reduce wait times.
- Coordinate specialist referrals and monitor patient care plans.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) for accurate documentation of patient encounters.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment.
- Support healthcare providers during patient visits and assist with documentation.
- Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
- Medical degree completion is required.
- Experience with MCCQE, USMLE, or NAC OSCE is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills in English, with proficiency in additional languages being a plus.
- Permanent eligibility to work in Canada is necessary.
- Typing proficiency of 40 WPM for data entry tasks.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and professionalism.
