The Role: The Clinical Support Specialist position is tailored for International Medical Graduates or internationally trained healthcare professionals. This role is perfect for individuals eager to understand the Canadian healthcare landscape while pursuing medical licensure in North America. As a Clinical Support Specialist, you will operate under the guidance of a physician, serving as an essential support resource in the examination room. Compensation:
  • Hourly wage of $17.05, with potential bonuses based on performance.
  • Completion of initial training milestones within the first three weeks is required.
  • Post-probation, a performance review will be conducted to assess eligibility for specialty training opportunities.
  • Additional bonuses are available for participation in specialty programs.
Benefits: Comprehensive vision, dental, medical, and paramedical services available after six months of continuous full-time employment. Key Responsibilities: As a Clinical Support Specialist, you will be trained and responsible for:
  • Collaborating with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver thorough patient care.
  • Assisting in triage, gathering patient histories, and conducting basic physical assessments.
  • Coordinating patient appointments, tests, and procedures to enhance clinic efficiency.
  • Managing referrals to specialists and ensuring follow-up on patient care plans.
  • Utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) for accurate documentation of patient encounters.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization within examination areas.
  • Handling administrative tasks such as patient registration and payment collection.
  • Providing support during medical procedures and documenting care accurately.
  • Engaging in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Medical degree completion is required.
  • Completion of MCCQE, USMLE, or NAC OSCE is advantageous.
  • Prior residency interviews in Canada or the US are a plus.
  • Recent clinical experience is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is beneficial.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada is mandatory.
  • Typing proficiency of 40 WPM for data entry tasks.
  • Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to work across multiple locations.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
