Job Description

Job Title: Clinical Psychologist - Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary:

Jewish Family Services Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team as a Mental Health Specialist. As a key member of our Counselling Group, you will provide clinical counselling services to individuals, couples, and families, addressing a range of mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services to individuals, couples, and families, utilizing evidence-based practices such as Emotion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
  • Conduct psychological assessments, including WSIB and ODSP-related assessments, and work collaboratively with the agency to expand clinical activities.
  • Provide clinical supervision to other staff members as needed, ensuring high-quality client care and adherence to best practices.
  • Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with community agencies, schools, courts, and child welfare workers to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Participate in supervision, meetings, and professional development opportunities to maintain expertise and stay up-to-date with industry developments.

Requirements:

  • Completed a clinical PhD or PsyD program in Psychology, or equivalent titles, permitting you to function as a Clinical Psychologist/Psychological Associate.
  • Registered or immediately eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
  • Licensed to provide couples/family counseling is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of clinical psychology, counselling psychology, and health psychology is an asset.
  • Maintains or is eligible to maintain professional liability insurance through their association.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
  • English essential.
  • Fluency in other languages than English would be considered an asset.
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check is mandatory.
