About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Security Officer to join our team at Paladin Security. As a key member of our healthcare division, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors in various healthcare facilities across Calgary and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Access Control: Provide secure access to authorized personnel and visitors, while maintaining the integrity of restricted areas.
  • Incident Response: Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and emergency calls, ensuring the safety of all individuals involved.
  • Patrols and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols of facilities, monitoring for potential risks and security breaches, and reporting any irregularities.
  • Communication and De-escalation: Utilize excellent communication and de-escalation skills to resolve conflicts and provide empathetic support to patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Accurately document and report incidents, near misses, and other relevant information to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Security License: Valid AB Security license or willingness to obtain prior to commencing work.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform physical tasks, including walking up to 20km/shift, walking up/down stairs, and pushing/pulling 30-pound doors.
  • Availability: Available to work overnight shifts on weekends.
