Bilingual Claims Examiner

We are seeking a highly skilled Bilingual Claims Examiner to join our team at Securian Canada. As a Claims Examiner, you will be responsible for examining claim files, reviewing language, and making accurate decisions within processing guidelines. You will also provide excellent customer service, communicate effectively with claimants, physicians, and legal counsel, and adhere to safety and security policies.
Key Responsibilities- Examine claim files to determine eligibility and make accurate decisions within processing guidelines.
- Review language of certificates and analyze claim files to ensure accurate decision-making.
- Provide excellent customer service, communicate effectively with claimants, physicians, and legal counsel.
- Adhere to safety and security policies, and ensure regular attendance and contribution to team operations.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports, reviews, and processes, and make necessary changes and corrections.
- Post-secondary education preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Fluency in both English and French.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- FLHC, FLMI, or ALHC designation is considered an asset.
- Fundamental knowledge of computers and keyboarding skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to perform different complex tasks simultaneously.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of insurance practices and principles to solve problems.
