About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Support Specialist to join our team at Iron Oak IT Inc. as a key member of our IT infrastructure team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and Administer Network Infrastructure

Ensure the smooth operation of our local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.

Evaluate and Install Network Hardware and Software

Assess and implement the latest computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software to optimize our network performance.

Provide Technical Support

Offer expert problem-solving services to our network users, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.

Implement Security Measures

Develop and enforce data, software, and hardware security procedures to protect our network from potential threats.

Perform Routine Network Maintenance

Conduct regular network start-up and close-down procedures, maintaining accurate control records and ensuring seamless network operation.

Manage Data Backups and Disaster Recovery

Implement and oversee data backup and disaster recovery operations to ensure business continuity.

Configure Network Connections

Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet, ensuring secure and efficient data transfer.

Monitor Network Performance

Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, optimizing server performance and ensuring network stability.

Supervise Technical Staff

Lead and mentor technical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the team's success.

About You
  • Technical Expertise

You possess in-depth knowledge of virtualization, Linux, networking hardware, networking security, servers, security software, SharePoint, database software, and MS Office.

Work Environment

You thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, demonstrating attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
