Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Computer Network Technician to join our team at Advent Infratech Limited. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering our local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and Administer Network Infrastructure: Ensure the smooth operation of our network systems, including LANs, WANs, and mainframe networks.
  • Troubleshoot Network Issues: Identify and resolve network problems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Evaluate and Install Network Hardware and Software: Assess and implement new network hardware and software to improve system performance and security.
  • Provide Technical Support: Offer expert advice and assistance to network users to resolve technical issues.
  • Implement Security Measures: Develop and enforce data, software, and hardware security procedures to protect our network and systems.
  • Perform Routine Network Maintenance: Conduct regular network start-up and shut-down procedures, and maintain control records.
  • Set Up Network Connections: Establish local area networks and connections to the Internet.
  • Monitor Network Performance: Implement network traffic and security monitoring software to optimize server performance.
  • Research and Implement New Technologies: Stay up-to-date with the latest network technologies and apply meta-data to Websites and register Websites with search engines.
Work Environment and Requirements
  • Work under Pressure: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of network administration.

Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
