Nuclear Medicine Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, dispense, and administer radiopharmaceuticals to perform nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures and therapies.
- Conduct quality assurance of radiopharmaceuticals, imaging equipment, and documentation to ensure compliance with hospital accreditation, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, and Health Canada regulations.
- Adapt procedures and perform complex computer manipulations and analysis to provide high-quality patient care.
- Work independently on-call/emergency procedures outside of department hours for presentation to the nuclear medicine physician.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
- Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification.
- Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure.
- Basic Life Support Certification.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System.
- Able to adapt to changes or unusual circumstances in a way that promotes co-operation, team work, and minimizes disruption to the work environment.
- Establish a rapport with patients demonstrating courtesy, kindness, understanding, and professionalism at all times.
- Commit to practicing all aspects of Nuclear Medicine and demonstrate initiative in maintaining and expanding all related skills.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
- A competitive hourly rate of $34.24 - $39.96.
