About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, dispense, and administer radiopharmaceuticals to perform nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures and therapies.
  • Conduct quality assurance of radiopharmaceuticals, imaging equipment, and documentation to ensure compliance with hospital accreditation, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, and Health Canada regulations.
  • Adapt procedures and perform complex computer manipulations and analysis to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Work independently on-call/emergency procedures outside of department hours for presentation to the nuclear medicine physician.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification.
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure.
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System.
  • Able to adapt to changes or unusual circumstances in a way that promotes co-operation, team work, and minimizes disruption to the work environment.
  • Establish a rapport with patients demonstrating courtesy, kindness, understanding, and professionalism at all times.
  • Commit to practicing all aspects of Nuclear Medicine and demonstrate initiative in maintaining and expanding all related skills.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
