We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for preparing, dispensing, and administering radiopharmaceuticals to perform a wide range of nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures and therapies.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment, including cameras and computers
- Collaborate with nuclear medicine physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain knowledge of new technologies and procedures in nuclear medicine
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in nuclear medicine technology. The ideal candidate will have:
- A graduate degree in nuclear medicine technology from an accredited program
- Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification and Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
- Basic Life Support Certification and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
Hours and Compensation
This is a permanent full-time position, working 75 hours biweekly. The hourly rate is $39.96. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
