About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for preparing, dispensing, and administering radiopharmaceuticals to perform a wide range of nuclear medicine diagnostic procedures and therapies.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Operate and maintain nuclear medicine equipment, including cameras and computers
  • Collaborate with nuclear medicine physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Conduct quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with hospital accreditation, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, and Health Canada regulations
  • Develop and implement procedures for the safe handling and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in nuclear medicine technology. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification and Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Basic Life Support Certification and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System training
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in nuclear medicine technology
